Jewish Family Services (JFS) of Northeastern NY is seeking a compassionate, skilled psychotherapist with experience working with young children and their families to join our supportive clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who is passionate about early childhood mental health and is looking to expand their expertise and earn additional income while working toward clinical licensure(if applicable). Weekly clinical supervision is provided.

Location: Albany, NY
Pay: $31–40 per hour, based on experience
Mode of Service: Primarily in-person (evenings/weekends), with some remote services as appropriate
Position Highlights:

Focus on providing psychotherapy to young children (ages 4 and up) and their families, with opportunities to work with clients of all ages if desired.
- In-person sessions are conducted at our Albany office during evenings and weekends (weekend availability is preferred but not required).

Flexible scheduling—clinicians set their own hours, with a minimum commitment of 10 client contact hours per week.

Qualifications:

NY State License: LMSW, LCSW, LCSW-R, LMHC, or MFT (active or pending)
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field (required)
- Demonstrated experience providing psychotherapy to young children and families
- Experience with play therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, or other child-focused modalities (preferred)
- NY State driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation (required)
- NPI, CAQH, and managed care credentialing (preferred)
- Ability to provide at least three professional references
- Proof of up-to-date COVID vaccination
Experience:
- Experience working with a range of mental health diagnoses and diverse populations
- Familiarity with evidence-based interventions and therapy modalities for children
- Working knowledge of DSM-5/ICD-10
- Experience with mental status exams and diagnosis (preferred)
- Timely response to client communications (within one business day)
Hours:
Minimum 10 client contact hours per week; evening in-person availability required (Sunday is another option as well)
