Chaplaincy Support

The JFS Chaplaincy Program provides spiritual connection and support for Jewish residents in Capital Region long-term and elder care facilities and
in the community.

The breadth of services includes:

Providing pastoral care & counseling for residents.
Visits with individuals who are otherwise unaffiliated, isolated & disconnected from Jewish life.
Providing programming on Jewish topics for residents.
Consultation/education with facility staff on Jewish traditions, holiday preparations & food guidelines/restrictions to help them become more culturally sensitive to Jewish residents & their needs.
Collaboration with Jewish & non-Jewish professionals in the community.

Meet our Community Chaplain

Rabbi Adam Lautman

Rabbi Adam serves as the Community Chaplain at JFS, where he is passionate about supporting older adults through compassionate spiritual care and meaningful connection. Ordained by the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in 2020, he is committed to helping people connect with an inclusive Judaism, Torah, and G!d.
