Jewish Family Services (JFS) of Northeastern New York seeks a dedicated, innovative, experienced licensed mental health professional to join an incredible team to lead a growing clinical practice and community program.
JFS leads the search with its mission at the forefront: enriching the lives of individuals, families and the community by providing compassionate, collaborative human services, guided by Jewish values. The Director of Clinical Services will be an integral member of the senior staff and will guide the entire JFS team in matters of mental and behavioral health.
Responsibilities include:
- Direct the strategic and operational planning of the clinical services department;
- Provide leadership and supervision to clinical staff, Intake Coordinator and interns, including clinical supervision, training, evaluation, support and management;
- Maintain a weekly caseload 10-15 clients and complete corresponding documentation in timely manner;
- Act as primary point person for agency electronic health record system (currently Simple Practice);
- Update, maintain and comply with policies and procedures as they relate to all clinical program operations;
- Work with internal team and occasional external consultants to manage billing and policies, program development, fiscal budget and performance improvement;
- Be reasonably available for client and community partner emergencies;
- Develop, collaborate or support community psycho-educational programs with colleagues, at least quarterly;
- Promote counseling program in coordination with Marketing Department;
- Participate in regular staff and senior staff meetings and related agency activities and occasional agency representation.
- Attend workshops and training sessions which have relevance to direct service delivery, management, and business development.
Qualifications and Characteristics:
- Master’s or Doctorate in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or Psychology with supervisory experience
- Licensed to practice in New York (LCSW-R, LCSW, PsyD, PhD, MD considered)
- Credentialed to bill insurance payors in NYS
- Management experience with telehealth, billing and coding
- Minimum of five years of experience in the field
- Familiarity with Jewish community a plus, not required
- Able to work flexible hours, including potential for some evenings and weekends
- Commitment to maintain strict confidentiality
- Comfortable working independently yet maintain transparent and clear communication with colleagues and clients, as appropriate
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability and eagerness to collaborate well with team members, outside agencies and service providers.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid NY driver’s license, reliable vehicle
- Willing to learn new software for recordkeeping and billing, if necessary

HOURS:
37.5 hour / week minimum; Monday – Thursday, 8:30 – 6pm, and Fridays by appointment.
