JFS/NNORC Marketing/Communications Intern
Hours: 3-5 hours a week (primarily remotely)
Winter/Spring Semester – 2024
JFS is seeking a bachelor’s level marketing/communications/design intern to promote the NNORC* program. This internship will provide exposure to the non-profit marketing sector, offer an opportunity to work in several communication and design platforms, and sharpen writing and design skills.
The Albany NNORC (Neighborhood Naturally Occurring Retirement Community) is a unique 3-square mile neighborhood that has a high concentration of older adults 60+. NNORC staff provides healthcare support, care management, and wellness, social and recreation programs all designed to help older adults age independently in the comfort of their homes and neighborhood.
Internship Responsibilities:
- Promote NNORC program goals and services to create the following communications:
- Weekly e-news
- Weekly Facebook posts (2-3)
- Bi-monthly newsletter
- Bi-monthly postcard
- Monthly program flyer
- Website event calendar updates
- Assist in the development of partner engagement strategies
- Assist in the development of fundraising
- Attend NNORC events when possible to capture photos/video for social media
- Assist in the development of fundraising materials for the Chaplaincy Program.
- Report to the Director of Marketing in coordination with the Albany NNORC staff
Qualifications
- Self-starter who can work independently.
- Highly organized and possess strong writing, communication skills.
- Social media skills including ability to design attractive, JFS-branded posts in Canva or Adobe Express.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Publisher.
- Possess an eye for graphic design.
