Elana Kamenir joined the JFS staff in 2021 drawing from a 30-year career as a non-profit professional. Prior to JFS, Elana was cofounder and executive director of The Cue Theatre, a local education program for students to learn all aspects of performing arts from production to performance. Her career has spanned education reform, the visual and performing arts, and human services. Before relocating to the Capital Region in 2001, she worked to build educational and professional equity for youth and young adults while at the Edwin Gould Partners, and was the Director of Program Funding at The Jewish Museum in Manhattan ensuring funding for all art exhibits and educational programs.
Elana earned her MBA in Marketing from University of Wisconsin – Madison, and her BA in anthropology from Kent State University. When not working, she enjoys time with her husband, two daughters and goldendoodle, kayaking, hiking, reading and knitting. And sometimes just sitting doing absolutely nothing.
