Author David Kalish, his debut book and interviewer Lale Davidson.

Inspired by his own brush with cancer and divorce, author David Kalish makes a comedy out of his painful past in his debut novel, The Opposite of Everything. The story traces the hilarious descent of a man (Daniel Plotnick) stricken with cancer. His wife can’t deal with it, his marriage ends in a showdown with police, and his father accidentally pushes him off the George Washington Bridge. Plotnick miraculously survives his terrifying plunge—and comes up with a crazy plan to turn his life around: by doing the opposite of everything he did before.
Come and hear David Kalish and Lale Davidson engage in a lively and thought-provoking Q&A, as they explore David’s writing journey and how he transformed his personal struggles into a dark comedy.
This is a must-attend event for book lovers, aspiring writers, and anyone who has ever struggled to keep the faith in the face of adversity. There will be time for audience questions and book signing after the event.
