Mindfulness is the practice of focusing on being aware of what you’re sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment. Mindfulness practice often involves a focus on breathing, imagery, and relaxation and can help to reduce anxiety and stress, pain, depression and other health concerns. Although it has many benefits, it can be hard to start a mindfulness practice. This program will provide information about the benefits of mindfulness and
meditation for wellness and practical tips for starting your own personalized mindfulness practice.
This program will be run by Hayley Humiston, a clinical intern with JFS. She is in her third year in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the College of Saint Rose.
