CarFit is a free, 30-minute educational program that helps older adults see how well their car “fits” them. A proper fit can improve safety and reduce the risk of injury. While you sit in your vehicle, trained professionals assess key areas like seat position, seat belt use, steering wheel tilt, line of sight, mirror alignment, and pedal access.

The program is led by Donna Stressel, Occupational Therapist at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital.

Learn about how the local Watervliet Shakers and other nearby upstate groups sought new ways of defining community from the late 1700s into the mid 1800s.  In the early years of the New Republic, there was a vibrant movement that came to be called The Great Awakening. Join Ann Sayers, a local independent scholar and author who has spent years researching the Believers who lived in “ Wisdom’s Valley,” as the Shaker community sometimes called itself, for this special event.

Three Days in June by Anne Tyler

Gail Baines is having a bad day. To start, she loses her job—or quits, depending on whom you ask. Tomorrow her daughter, Debbie, is getting married, and she hasn’t even been invited to the spa day organized by the mother of the groom. Then, Gail’s ex-husband, Max, arrives unannounced on her doorstep, carrying a cat, without a place to stay, and without even a suit.

But the true crisis lands when Debbie shares with her parents a secret she has just learned about her husband to be. It will not only throw the wedding into question but also stir up Gail and Max’s past.

Told with deep sensitivity and a tart sense of humor, full of the joys and heartbreaks of love and marriage and family life, Three Days in June is a triumph, and gives us the perennially bestselling, Pulitzer Prize–winning writer at the height of her powers.

The Art Thief: A True Story of Love, Crime and Dangerous Obsession by Michael Finkel

Stéphane Bréitwieser is the most prolific art thief of all time. He pulled off more than 200 heists, often in crowded museums in broad daylight. His girlfriend served as his accomplice. His collection was worth an estimated $2 billion. He never sold a piece, displaying his stolen art in his attic bedroom. He felt like a king. Until everything came to a shocking end.

In this spellbinding portrait of obsession and flawed genius, Michael Finkel gives us one of the most remarkable true-crime narratives of our times, a riveting story of art, theft, love, and an insatiable hunger to possess beauty at any cost.
